Position Overview

Assist Production team with customer satisfaction, carpentry labor, material handling, job site cleanup, material pick-up and delivery, care and maintenance of company-owned tools, organize tool in storage area, and care and maintenance of company vehicles.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Travel to job sites or warranty visits to complete punch list items of various sizes and complexity
  • Providing support for production punching out projects
  • Understand the scope of work for each project and work within the scope
  • Navigate customer dissatisfaction with state of project or potential warranty items
  • Ability to determine and effectively communicate the difference between a warranty item and a billable task
  • Ensure quality of the service work we are producing and that the craftsmanship is exceptional
  • Maintain clean working environment and clean up thoroughly after completion of work
  • Report outcomes from visits to management team for support ordering materials and scheduling follow up visits if applicable
  • Log hours and notes through software daily
  • Take and upload photos of work when required
  • Promote employee and job site safety
  • Keep Melton tools, equipment, and vehicles clean and in good working order
  • Seek and track leads for future larger projects
  • Wear Melton gear (provided) to jobsites to identify yourself to subcontractors and customers

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong customer relations skills
  • Ability to manage a project, including scheduling and supervising subcontractors
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong knowledge about residential and commercial construction, and the processes involved
  • Strong general carpentry skills from framing to drywall, tile, trim carpentry, and painting
  • Effective communication skills

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years carpentry experience preferred
  • Competent with technology and ability to learn new systems and software
  • Residential construction and project management experience preferable
  • Wood shop experience a plus

Physical Requirements / Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate a full spectrum of carpentry tools.
  • Must be able to work safely at client sites in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.


Other Requirements

  • Must have an extensive set of personal tools which can be used on the job.
  • Must have reliable transportation to reach (multiple) project sites.

Position Pay Information:

Full Time (40 hours)
$20 – $24 / hour
