Position Overview:

The HCR Manager has three main responsibilities: Small Projects, Warranty, and Field Support. Like all positions at Melton this is a customer service driven role, and the right candidate will embody and perpetuate our vision and goal of “clients for life”.

Small Projects

  • Estimate and Project Manage small projects using Melton labor and Trade Partners
  • Create and present proposals and estimates for maintenance and small projects
  • Reach out to past clients and engage them in a discussion about their home
  • Work with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate billing
  • All other duties as assigned

Warranty

  • Excellent client communication and follow through
  • Direct and coordinate all service and warranty activities at Melton Design Build to maximize Client Satisfaction, efficiency, profitability, and embody our vision of “clients for life”.
  • Speak with current warranty clients about possible upcoming projects
  • Emergency Response.
  • Warranty account set up and management
  • Work with manufacturers, vendors, and Trade Partners on Warranty related issues/claims
    • Responsible for Department Goals
    • All other duties as assigned

Field Support

  • Support Development team by executing exploratory work at new clients homes
  • “Honey do” lists for current clients
  • Excellent internal client communication and follow through
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills & Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of Melton’s process and values and able to present this to clients
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Highly computer-literate (proficient with Word, Excel, Smartsheets, and Outlook)
  • Good negotiating skills
  • Good people skills—one-on-one and as part of a team
  • Superior customer skills, including the ability to listen well
  • Ability to work through troublesome situations in a calm and professional manner

Education & Experience

  • Preferably 3+ years of hands-on carpentry experience
  • Experience estimating residential construction projects
  • Experience with residential construction (project management/warranty)

Physical Requirements / Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work safely at client sites in a variety of weather conditions and terrains
