Description

The Junior Interior Designer is responsible for designing both beautiful and functional interior spaces for all aspects of residential design including remodels, additions, and new builds. This includes creating an array of schematic design options as well as presenting and purchasing all interior finishes (ordering cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, tile, lighting/etc.).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design kitchen, bath, and other remodel/addition projects
  • Respect the client’s budget and present design options that meet the client’s budget
  • Specify appropriate interior finishes for specific applications and budgets
  • Use design software for design, drafting, and pricing for projects
  • Produce preliminary design drawings for client presentations
  • Clearly present design options and materials for clients and revise as needed
  • Apply product knowledge and expertise to guide clients to solidify design selections
  • Create and maintain a detailed product selection list for each client project
  • Develop a strong knowledge of cabinetry specs to assist in coordinating new cabinetry samples, displays, updating pricing, and maintaining the design center
  • Quote and order cabinetry, tile, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and lighting fixtures for projects
  • Coordinate and attend on-site meetings throughout the constructions process
  • Collaborate with other designers on projects as needed
  • Provide support for internal team members and clients as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

  • An interest in staying up to date with changing design trends

  • Must be comfortable with clearly communicating and presenting design ideas/intentions with clients and peers

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Interior Design and/or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience designing kitchen and bath remodels, including finish selections and specifications
  • 2+ years of experience with space planning, schematic design, design development, and construction document drawings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
  • Experience with 2020 Cabinet Layout and pricing Software preferred
  • Experience with Rendering Software (Sketchup/Enscape/Revit) preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to travel and navigate to client sites
  • Must be able to work safely at client sites in a variety of weather conditions and terrains

Position Pay Information:

Full Time (40 hours)
$22-$28 / Hour DOE plus bonuses
