Position Overview
Conducts painting and material finishing services for contracted Melton Design Build Projects. Provides start to finish “in-house” painting and wood finishing, painting support, touch-ups, and painting/finish element quality control services as designated. Provides great customer service and communication while conducting paint/finish services on-site.
Essential Functions
- Application of various finishes to buildings, rooms, walls, ceilings, cabinetry, and other built structures and construction elements.
- Preparation, cleaning, masking, taping, and protection of various areas of jobsites for painting and material finishing.
- Paint and stain mixing, color theory, and color matching.
- Mixing and applying paints, varnishes, stains, and sealants for a quality and lasting finish.
- Caulking, puttying, plastering, sanding or otherwise, to repair and prepare surfaces and materials for painting and finishing.
- Paint and finish applications for both Interior and Exterior building materials, for Residential and Commercial projects.
- Obeying workplace safety rules.
- Keeping workspace, tools, and vehicle clean and organized.
- Buying paint and finish materials, and other supplies, as necessary.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge and experience in painting residential and commercial spaces.
- Ability to receive detailed instructions and execute job functions with minimal oversight.
- Ability to work independently in a very organized manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills.
- Excellent follow through with numerous simultaneous projects.
- Ability to work in a team setting, as well as individually motivated.
- Ability to work unsupervised, and self-manage time and deadlines of assigned projects.
- Good balance and physical endurance.
- Knowledge of quality painting and wood finishing techniques.
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety standards.
- Experience operating various painting related tools and equipment, such as paint sprayers, brushes and rollers, ladders, scaffolding, lifts etc.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on painting experience, in the construction industry.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a full spectrum of carpentry tools.
- Must have an extensive set of personal tools which can be used on the job.
- Must have reliable transportation to reach (multiple) project sites.
- Must be able to work safely at client sites in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.

Position Pay Information:
Full-Time (40 hours)
$20 – $30 / hour
