Position Overview
Perform general carpentry to complete residential projects and warranty items. Provide excellent customer service. Manage scheduling, materials, subs, and budget as needed to complete these projects. Set proper client expectations to ensure quality and a positive client experience.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Travel to job sites or warranty visits to complete punch list items of various sizes and complexity
- Providing support for production punching out projects
- Understand the scope of work for each project and work within the scope
- Navigate customer dissatisfaction with state of project or potential warranty items
- Ability to determine and effectively communicate the difference between a warranty item and a billable task
- Ensure quality of the service work we are producing and that the craftsmanship is exceptional
- Maintain clean working environment and clean up thoroughly after completion of work
- Report outcomes from visits to management team for support ordering materials and scheduling follow up visits if applicable
- Log hours and notes through software daily
- Take and upload photos of work when required
- Promote employee and job site safety
- Keep Melton tools, equipment, and vehicles clean and in good working order
- Seek and track leads for future larger projects
- Wear Melton gear (provided) to jobsites to identify yourself to subcontractors and customers
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong customer relations skills
- Ability to manage a project, including scheduling and supervising subcontractors
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong knowledge about residential and commercial construction, and the processes involved
- Strong general carpentry skills from framing to drywall, tile, trim carpentry, and painting
- Effective communication skills
Education & Experience
- Minimum 10 years carpentry experience preferred
- Competent with technology and ability to learn new systems and software
- Residential construction and project management experience preferable
- Wood shop experience a plus

Physical Requirements / Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a full spectrum of carpentry tools.
- Must be able to work safely at client sites in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
Other Requirements
- Must have an extensive set of personal tools which can be used on the job.
- Must have reliable transportation to reach (multiple) project sites.

Position Pay Information:
Full Time (40 hours)
$25 – $30 / hour
