Ready To Fall In Love Again? Hot Trends for Your Master Suite

When you look around your master bedroom, bath and closets, do you love everything you see? Maybe it’s time to spice up this special retreat! Here are some ideas for updates that will have you falling in love with your master suite all over again!

Master bathroom remodeling trendsOpen It Up. Don’t just open up the closet! One of the newest trends in master suites is to eliminate the doorway between the bedroom and bathroom. This creates an expansive sense of space. When desired, French doors can be used to close off the space without closing off natural light, or curtained panels can be pulled for privacy when desired.

Relax by Firelight. What could be more relaxing and romantic than bathing or curling up with a favorite book in front of the fireplace? Today, that’s easier than ever because we can put a fireplace almost anywhere in your bedroom or bathroom. It doesn’t even need to be on an exterior wall. In fact, today’s fireplace options include glass enclosed “designer” flames that can be freestanding or inserted into the middle of a wall as a focal point. Remote controls make it so easy to enjoy gorgeous firelight whenever you like – even in summer – and you can shut the flames on and off instantly and safely.

Light Up Your Life. The light in your master suite needs to be bright enough for you to tell navy from black. But you also want soft, cozy evening light. That’s why a lighting update can really transform your master suite. In addition to task lighting in your closet, bathroom and bedroom, we use techniques like cove lighting to build dimmable, indirect lighting into ledges, recesses or valences. With cove lighting, the fixtures are invisible, but your rooms have a clean, even “glow.” Of course, gorgeous chandeliers and sconces can add drama as well as light!
