Stuff the Bus 2025: Supporting Local Students Through Our Annual Backpack Drive
Each year, Melton Design Build teams up with A Precious Child to help Colorado students start school ready to learn. The 2025 Stuff the Bus Challenge marked our third year collecting backpacks and school supplies for local kids, reflecting our ongoing commitment to the communities where we live, work, and play.

Our Annual Tradition
Back-to-school season brings a certain kind of energy: early alarms, sharpened pencils, and the hopeful optimism for a bright year ahead. At Melton, it’s also fostered one of our favorite annual traditions.
The 2025 Impact
This summer marked our third year hosting our Stuff the Bus Challenge, benefiting Colorado K-2 students in coordination with A Precious Child. This year, with help from our staff, clients, and trade partners, we collected 31 fully stocked backpacks for students in need across Boulder County and surrounding communities.
Why It Matters
Each gifted backpack is filled with essential supplies like notebooks, pencils, crayons, folders (we all know that green is for science and red is for math), and more. Each one represents a better start for a young student. And over the past three years, we’ve now distributed nearly 90 backpacks, with a total value of over $4,500.
“Stuff the Bus has become one of my favorite Melton traditions,” says Ian Houser, Marketing Manager for Melton’s Refresh division. “I love that it brings together our team, our clients, and our trade partners to make a real, tangible impact on the lives of kids right here in our community.”
As the 2025–26 school year gets underway in Boulder Valley and neighboring districts, we’re wishing the students, staff, and families a successful school year full of laughter, light, and a little learning, too!
