BOULDER, CO – October 29, 2026. Melton Design Build interior designer Marissa Monte has been selected for the NKBA | KBIS Thirty Under 30 Class of 2027. The National Kitchen & Bath Association program recognizes emerging kitchen and bath professionals and their contributions to the industry.
Monte is listed among 30 honorees in the newly announced class and represents the NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter. The class will be honored at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas, February 2–4, 2027.
Monte discovered her interest in interior design at age 12 while recovering from a torn ACL. A floor plan program downloaded to her family’s computer turned a way to pass the time into a lasting professional interest.
“I am so lucky I’ve been able to turn my passion into a career,” Monte said.
Her personal design style draws on her East Coast roots and the traditional interiors associated with filmmaker Nancy Meyers. She pairs that interest with a practical approach to helping homeowners navigate material choices and project budgets.
“My dream kitchen consists of inset cabinetry, soapstone counters, beadboard and subway tile—totally classic!” Monte said.
Early in her career, Monte developed strategies for finding material alternatives and collaborating with trades to manage costs. She also adapted her design presentations for virtual meetings, helping homeowners review selections and plans remotely. Her professional goals include earning the Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer credential.
