Addition + Kitchen
We recently completed a transformative addition and remodel in Boulder’s Table Mesa neighborhood, focusing on creating a versatile and functional space to accommodate the evolving needs of a young family. With two school-aged children and aging parents of their own, our clients needed a space that could serve multiple purposes without sacrificing comfort or style. This project exemplifies our commitment to thoughtful design and craftsmanship, ensuring that every detail aligns with the family’s vision and lifestyle, resulting in a home that meets their current needs and will continue to serve them well as their family grows and evolves.
Flexible, Functional, and Fun
The addition was designed with adaptability in mind, serving as a guest suite, home office, and extra living space. A Murphy bed allows the room to transition effortlessly from a bedroom to a cozy lounge area, perfect for both visiting grandparents and as a quiet study space for the children. The bathroom, a calming retreat, features a walk-in shower with hexagonal tiles in soothing blue, paired with sleek, modern fixtures. The kitchenette adds functionality, ideal for light meals or snacks, without compromising on style, featuring custom shelving, wood cabinetry, and solid surface countertops.
Backyard Beauty
The exterior of the addition was crafted to blend seamlessly with the existing structure, maintaining the architectural integrity of the home. Using board and batten siding and natural wood accents, the addition feels like a natural extension rather than an afterthought. The careful placement of the new structure maximized the family’s outdoor space, preserving a generous backyard where the children can play, and the whole family can gather. The backyard remains a vibrant part of the home, enhancing the overall living experience.
Classical Kitchen
The kitchen in the original home also underwent a significant transformation to better serve the family’s needs. The redesign focused on creating a timeless, functional space that would comfortably host family meals and gatherings. New cabinetry in a soft gray finish, paired with modern hardware, offers ample storage while maintaining a classic aesthetic. The addition of solid surface countertops and updated lighting fixtures creates an inviting and practical space where the family can come together, making the kitchen the heart of their home.
